Conformance levels

Levels describe how much the converter can promise about a file. They are a ladder, not a grade: most decks only need L1.

Always produces a file. | | L1 | Geometry contract | 1280×720 slides, self-contained, renders without JavaScript. | | L2 | Semantic contract | Uses the elements for their meaning, so text, shapes and tables convert natively. | | L3 | Data contract | Charts carry their numbers, so chart data stays editable in PowerPoint. |

How to read them

• L0 is the floor. Even a deck that knows nothing about unPaper converts — it just flattens more.
• L1 is what the template gives you for free. Nearly everything good downstream depends on it.
• L2 is where PowerPoint stops being a picture. Shapes move, text retypes.
• L3 matters when someone will edit the numbers. A chart at L2 is a picture of a chart; at L3 it has a spreadsheet behind it.
